Additional information from above auction:

Lot number 12
First registered in September 1983, this XJS HE has had five owners to date and has been in the current family ownership for the last nine years (father then son). It has covered around 111,400 miles to date and apparently did have a good service history but this was unfortunately lost during a house move.

During the time that the vendor and his father have owned the car it has been well-maintained and rolling road tuned to ensure that the engine is operating at peak efficiency. Many of the original rubber hoses have been replaced with improved silicone items and the engine cooling fans have been replaced only recently. The braking system has been overhauled including the callipers and the handbrake, and the air conditioning system has also been thoroughly serviced with new parts as required.

Always kept garaged when not in use, the car is said to be in good condition throughout with just a few minor blemishes here and there, and is further said to drive well with an MOT until April 2016.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
