The Interior
Oatmeal Connolly leather upholstery is in very good condition
There is some patination showing to the original leather on the front seats, as would be expected, but a leather clean should soon bring them back to their best
Occasional seats in rear show very well, with no notable wear or creasing
The cabin carpets are very presentable, being clean and tidy with no major wear apparent
Electrically operated windows and door mirrors functioning correctly
Genuine walnut veneer on dashboard and centre console, with no cracks, discolouration or delamination to be seen, and a fine lustre to the lacquer
Kenwood CD player fitted, while the original radio/cassette unit has been retained and is included
Air conditioning
Dashboard instruments clear and bright
The electrically operated seats are said to work just as they should, with no issues
We're assured by the vendor that everything in the cabin, including all of the lighting, instrumentation and switchgear, is in perfect working order
The headlining has dropped, but fitting a replacement is said to be a simple job, with the vendor telling us they have been quoted £200 for a new item
Spacious boot is well trimmed with neat grey carpet and includes a space saver spare wheel
Toolkit complete and original
The Exterior
Having had a glass-out respray in its factory-correct 'Flamenco Red' colour, the paintwork is in excellent condition, with very few blemishes to be found
The interior – cabin, engine bay and boot – were not resprayed as the internal paint was found to be in very good order
There is a small scuff on the left side of the front bumper
The vendor has had the wheel arches professionally sealed with stone guard
All of the body panels show in fine style, with clean, straight lines and even panel gaps
The brightwork and rubber trim is likewise very well presented, with nothing missing or damaged as far as we could see
Front and rear, the light lenses are clear and bright, with no cracks or chips
This handsome grand tourer sits on original five-spoke, 16-inch, diamond cut and polished alloy wheels, which present in excellent condition having been well refurbished
The front tyres are said to have covered just about 2,000 miles, and are Pirelli Cinturatos (the closest tyre to factory specification that is available), meanwhile the rears are factory spec Pirelli P6000s which are slightly older
Looking underneath, the sills, floor and other elements of the underside looks to be straight and neat, with no damage or noteworthy corrosion we could discern
The entire underside has been well undersealed, which will have gone a long way to preserving it in fine condition
We are informed that, during the restoration, the sub-frames have been dropped, powder-coated and had new bushes fitted to ensure maximum longevity
The Mechanics
Sonorous and powerful 3,980cc, straight-six AJ16 engine produces 238bhp
Official 0-60mph time of 6.9 seconds, and a top speed of 147mph
Automatic transmission, offering smooth shifts
It is reported that the battery is newly fitted
The engine bay presented very well, looking clean and tidy, with no evidence of leaks or overheating that we could identify
MOT to June 2023 - the only advisory is for a slight diff oil leak
Last serviced in June 2022, with a comprehensive service record over the years
Excellent overall service and maintenance record, showing the car has been well cared for mechanically
We're assured by the vendor that the car runs exceptionally well, with no issues that they are aware of
