Dating from January 1988, this Series II XJS coupe features the 3.6-litre straight-six engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in light green with a beige leatherette and cloth interior.

The car rides on a set of lovely cross-spoke alloy wheels and features optional chrome wheel arch lips. It has covered approximately 106,000 miles and has recently been treated to around £2,000 worth of maintenance work including new brakes and front suspension components following time in storage and a failed MOT in October 2018.

The car was then SORN’d again and when presented for an MOT failed on various points. The vendor has undertaken to attend to these failures and the car will come to us with a fresh MOT in time for the sale.

At the time of cataloguing we had not had sight of the history file, but believe there to be supporting invoices for the recent spend along with the owner’s manual and other sundry paperwork.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
