Auction description:

Jaguar XJ6 CABRIOLET 1988 Collection Francis Staub - Lot 109

French registration document

Chassis: SAJJNADW4DA149631

The XJ-S convertible V12 that we present to you here was delivered new on July 13, 1988 by the British Motors dealership in Monaco. Its first owner, Mr. Jerry Tassone, took care of maintaining it in the after-sales service of the British Motors dealership until 2001, as evidenced by his original service book. It will subsequently be maintained by its new owner in Nice and then join the collection of Francis Staub a few years later. Today credited with 41,900 kilometers on the odometer, which appears to be its original mileage, this Jaguar XJ-S convertible is in good general condition. The bodywork is in good condition, the leather interior looks good and the mechanics are in good working order, as is the electric convertible top. The technical inspection passed in February 2020.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
