1991 JAGUAR XJS LISTER LE MANS CONVERTIBLE
A rare opportunity to acquire a 90s British Supercar.
Chassis No.: SAJJNADW3EN179852
This car started out as a 1991 interim facelift XJS convertible (and is believed to be the only Lister Le Mans built from a facelift XJS body). This car was then stripped down and given the comprehensive Laurence Pearce going over. The 7 litre V12 was boasted to be delivering 700hp, mated to a 6 speed Getrag gearbox (as was fitted to the BMW 850) with other components modified or replaced to suit the power output including the suspension, steering and brakes all had upgrades resulting in a very good handling car capable of speeds more than 200mph (320kph), even the Pirelli tyres are the same as the Lamborghini Countach. This very car was featured on a magazine cover after supposedly attaining speeds of 204mph which made it the fastest four seat convertible in the world at the time.
Laurence Pearce believes the car was ordered but never delivered to its original client. It was then found in Japan where it was with a Sony records executive, it then came back to England where it changed hands once or twice before being imported into Australia in 2005. It was sold twice again before Jaguar enthusiast and specialist (amongst all things engineering) Jordan Roddy purchased the car and gave it a good birthday before being acquired by the current vendor.
Having just covered just a touch over 31 thousand miles at the time of this auction. This is an extremely rare opportunity to pick up a truly superb, yet slightly outrageous one of a kind 90s supercar that is sure to turn heads and provide any custodian with an exhilarating experience.
This car is sold unregistered.
