Year of Manufacture: 1988
Estimate (£): 20,000 - 25,000
This car is an early UK production XJS Convertible V12 supplied new in September 1988. A low mileage car from its early life onwards, the first owner kept it from new until 1998 when he sadly passed away and ownership transferred to his widow who then put it into professional long term storage. The mileage on 2 previous MOT certificates in the limited history file show that in 1996 it had covered 11,958 miles and when it went in to storage the last MOT in March '97 confirmed 14,214 recorded miles. Recovered from storage and finally sold on in June 2007, the vehicle was then briefly recommissioned by the new owner and an MoT from May 2007 confirms the mileage of 14,813 and an MoT from May 2008 the mileage of 15,036.
Then returned to long term storage and taken off the road again, the car finally changed hands for the third and final time in September 2014, when it was once again recommissioned and fully serviced with total expenditure in excess of £7,000. The car was then sent for MoT in March 2015 with a mileage of 15,163 and today the car has covered just over 15,500. Finished in an unusual, but very pleasant colour combination of Satin Beige metallic with Magnolia Hide, this is a rare opportunity to enjoy a low mileage Jaguar convertible that has been recently recommissioned and is now starting to enjoy the classic status it always deserved.

Lot 152 - 1988 Jaguar XJS Convertible
Registration F512 UPC Chassis Number SAJJNADW3DA154341 Engine Number 8S062072HA Odometer reading 16,404 miles Estimate No Reserve
This XJS V12 Convertible is presented in Satin Beige metallic with Barley hide and has incredibly low mileage from new. Also boasting low ownership, the first custodian kept the car until he sadly passed in 1998 when title was transferred to his widow who kept the car in long term storage for sentimental reasons. Old MoT certificates show that in 1996 the car had covered just 11,958 miles and by the time it went into storage a year or so later, the mileage had only increased to 14,214 miles. In June 2007 the car was then sold and recommissioned by the third owner, and an MoT in that year confirms the mileage at 14,813 and by 2008, the odometer reading was still only 15,036. The car was then once again put in long term storage where it remained until it was sold in 2014 and, again, recommissioned and fully serviced with an expenditure of over £7000. The MoT test from March 2015 states the mileage as 15,163. Later that year, the owner decided to offer the car at an auction at the Car Fest show where our vendor, an avid car collector, purchased the XJS and has since used it sparingly, on high days and holidays, increasing the mileage to just 16,404. With care provided by Jaguar specialists Powerbell, low mileage and in stunning order, this is one of the best examples of the appreciating XJS convertibles on offer on the market today.
