1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Convertible

This XJ-S Convertible is a stylish V12-powered British cruiser.

It is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.3-litre V12, which sends around 295bhp to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission. 

A UK-delivered example, it is said to have remained in regular use until, in 2019, it was taken in by a Jaguar main dealer where it is noted to have remained ever since.

The odometer shows 58,915 miles, though this is not warranted.  

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

This XJ-S Convertible is presented in the handsome combination of white with chrome trims and a black soft top roof, over a barley leather-trimmed cabin, with wood trims.

It rides 15-inch lattice alloy wheels, which are fitted with a set of Nankang tyres. 

Equipment includes electrically adjustable and heated seats, electric windows, cruise control, a trip computer, as well as a Jaguar-branded radio cassette player head unit.

The car comes with its owner’s manuals, stamped service booklet, the V5C certificate, various maintenance invoices and MOT certificates, and a spare wheel.

CONDITION

Specific notes from the seller include: there is some slight damage on the roof.

The most recent MOT test took place on 27 October 2020 at 58,915 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with advisories for minor oil and fluid leaks, surface rust on the underside, all tyres being over 20 years old, a minor exhaust leak, slight tyre cracking on the offside front and rear tyres, and slight play in both front wheel bearings.
