This 1985 Jaguar XJ-SC V12 is a running and driving project that is said to have been imported to the US from Germany in 1985, and the seller tells us they purchased the car from the original owner in California in 2021. Powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in Antelope over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, replacement chrome-finished 15″ wheels, a black soft top, removable roof panels, cruise control, and a Blaupunkt CD stereo. This XJ-S V12 is now offered at no reserve with an accident-free Carfax report and a California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Antelope and features a black soft top with dual removable panels up top as well as a folding fabric panel aft of the roll bar. Additional details include quad headlights, front fog lights, chrome mirror caps, a power antenna, and dual exhaust outlets. There is a tear in the top fabric near the rear window, blemishes are noted on the hood, the paint on the trunk lid is fading.
Replacement chrome-finished 15″ alloy wheels were installed under current ownership, and they are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that were recently fitted. The seller notes that assorted brake components have been replaced.
The cabin features power-adjustable seats upholstered in black leather along with burl wood veneer accents on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Interior amenities include a Blaupunkt RPD545 CD stereo, cruise control, and power windows. The air conditioning is inoperative.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer that was retrofitted when the car was federalized. Further instrumentation includes a tachometer and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 85k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller tells us the car has been stored for most of the last decade, and that work under current ownership included wiring repairs and replacing the radiator and catalytic converters. The engine currently runs on 10 cylinders.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage. The car failed its most recent California smog test in June 2023 and was labeled a “Gross Polluter.” It cannot pass a California emissions test in its current condition, therefore it cannot be sold to an in-state private party buyer.
The current California title carries a “Non USA” brand.
