Car to return to auction 3/21
swva.co.uk/classic-car/jaguar-xjs-c-1988/
Auction description:
Lot 51, 1987Jaguar XJS-C32,124 (Warranted)£12,900 - 13,900
Finished in Old English White and fitted with TWR body kit and twin headlights. Current mileage 32124 (warranted). The car is in lovely condition and has a new MOT November 2020. Recently fitted with a full set of new tyres and full service. A new battery has also just been fitted.
The car was born in 1988 and lived in the Preston area until 1998 when sold and subsequently travelled to Northern Ireland. The mileage at this time as recorded on the MOT certificate was 26291. In 2003 the recorded mileage was 30423. It was at this point that the car is believed to have been paid over as a debt to a person or persons unknown but was kept in a church building in Belfast unused until 2014 when it resurfaced. The vehicle was tested on 18th July 2014 with a recorded mileage of 30735 after some recommission work. The car was purchased by Select cars of Grimsby in 2015 and who spent some considerable time and money bringing the car up to the standard you see it today. The vendor purchased the car in 2016 with a recorded mileage of 31400. The car had been kept in a dry unit and has only ever seen the sun and never the rain in his possession. The bodywork and interior are in excellent condition. All the tools and covers for the top are still as good as new and the spare has never been used.
You can see that the car has been well looked and the interior is an absolute delight to be in. It is like driving a sumptuous armchair. During the vendor’s ownership he has changed the tyres and had the car serviced and oil changed as necessary even though the car has done little mileage. It is regularly started and moved around a few miles to keep it all working. The only one thing the vendor has not had done on the car is the electric wing mirrors are inoperable so need moving manually. The car starts first every time on the button and purrs along holding correct oil pressure and water temperature.
The car comes with a comprehensive history file (including the Northern Ireland registration booklet) confirming work carried out along with dated mot certificates warranting mileages. The private number plate will also remain with the car.
Included in the sale:
1 x Unused spare wheel and tyre
1 x Car Jack
1 x Set of wheel locking nut keys
1 x Jaguar Tool box (missing one spanner)
1 x Warning Triangle
I x Jaguar supplied storage unit for roof covers
1 x Tonneau cover
1 x Made to measure indoor car cover with Jaguar logo and storage bag.
4 x Period music Tape cassettes.
1 x Vehicle history file
1 x Jaguar XJS Repair and Operation Manual
Auctioneers Notes: If you are looking for one of these undervalued Jaguar conv. look no further. The one we are offering you is very low mileage and has excellent history. This car needs to be seen! She may be viewed by appointment.

1988 JAGUAR XJ-SC 5.3 V12 AUTO
Estimate: £9,500 - £11,500
V5 present
MoT date: 18/07/2025
Chassis number: SAJJNACW3CA145196
Registered in May 1988, this Old English White Jaguar XJ-SC Auto Cabriolet is in excellent original condition inside and out, free from any corrosion and drives very well. Now a rare model, it is believed to be one of the last 10 right-hand drive cars built, and is fitted with a period TWR body kit, wheels and quad headlamps. The interior is trimmed in soft blue leather with optional rear seats. It has an MoT through to July 2025 and is showing 33,194 miles, with three owners overall recorded by its V5C. The registration number ‘C5 XJS’ is a very appropriate one for this model.
The mileage is confirmed by the large history file; the vehicle was dry-stored in 2003 at 30,423 miles and was recommissioned after 11 years, but has seen little use since then. The car comes with its tonneau cover, tool kit, roof panel bags and a fitted car cover.
Paperwork with the Jaguar includes its V5C, MoT certificates back to 1990 (when the mileage was 012149), instructions on how to drop the roof, the owner's handbook, and copies of past V5Cs plus its Northern Ireland logbook. There also a large stack of invoices testifying to much care and attention over the years, plus notes on the car's history pieced together over the years.
Result inc Premium : £12,636

Auction description:
1988 Jaguar XJ-SC V12
Trade Classics - Online, UK
19 June - 3 July, 2025
Lot 1864n
The car has covered a mere 34,099 miles, at the time of writing, with full supporting history. The car was dry stored in Northern Ireland from 2003, when the mileage was 30,423, until it surfaced in 2014. Extensive recommissioning works were carried out and the car MoTd on 18/07/2014 at 30,753. Select Cars of Grimsby spent considerable time and money bringing the car to its peak condition and passed it on to a new owner in 2016 at 31,400 miles. The car has been kept in a dry, weatherproof unit in the intervening period, has never been driven in the rain. It is, quite simply, stunning. I have not owned the car long, because I took it in part exchange for another rare JAGUAR from my reducing collection.
Near perfect condition, in line with its low mileage and storage.
There are inevitably a few stonechips around the lower inner arches as can be seen and two tiny marks on rear bumper.
Paint
Excellent condition, in line with its low mileage.

Mechanics
World-renowned Jaguar V12 in perfect running order having powered just 34,000 miles in 37 years.
Engine and Gearbox
Engine A1 and 3-speed automatic transmission in perfect order. The car benefited from a full service, all new tyres and new battery within that past 100 miles.
Suspension and Brakes
Factory specification suspension offers a mix of comfort and poise associated with Jaguar and in keeping with the Grand Touring aspirations of the XJS.
Brakes are excellent with discs all round and four pot calipers up front.
The Drive
With the Targa "Cabriolet" specification the XJS-C does not suffer from the inevitable "scuttle shake" associated with the full convertible. The XJS-C offers all the benefits of al fresco motoring with none of the drawbacks
Electrics and Other
All electrical fittings and gauges are in full working order.
History and Paperwork
The car comes with a detailed file supporting the extraordinary low mileage.
The car has MoT history back to Oct 1990.
