Seller's description:

Price £15,950 Jaguar XJS Year 1982 Mileage 134,300 Miles Country South Africa, International 17-Sep-2021

Here’s your chance to acquire a classic Jaguar Grand Tourer that is becoming increasingly rare and collectible as time goes by! Jaguar only ever manufactured 950 XJS V12 RHD Cabriolets with the Targa top between 1982 and 1988 and goodness knows how many have been retired, so there may only be a few hundred left in the world - and probably very few in super condition like the one we are presenting today. The car has just come in and we have done nothing to it yet, but it will be fully restored, benefitting from the fact that we do not know what the word “rust” means here on the high veld in Johannesburg, South Africa! This car is a RHD 5. 3 litre V12 with automatic transmission and was manufactured in the UK in 1982, so must be one of the first off the line. The coachwork is finished in Satin Beige with Magnolia hide upholstery – all of which is in super condition. The dashboard fascia and door cappings are in beautiful dark burr walnut which is spotless. The indicated mileage is 214, 890 kms (134, 300 miles). We are an independent Jaguar specialist and have a number of other classic Jaguars for sale, including several Mark 2's, two Daimler Double-Six VDP V12 5. 3 litre’s, a Series 2 4. 2 one owner E-Type roadster with FSH, a rare 1996 4. 0 XJR-6 and three XJS’s. We can also arrange export to the UK or anywhere in the world if required. Please call Geoff on the details below or e-mail using the button below for an appointment to view at The Jaguar Exchange, c/ o Jeff's Jags, Unit 4C, Charron Business Park, 105 Nagington Road, Wadeville 1422, Johannesburg.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
