Rare 'SC' version featuring twin Targa roof panels
Lots of history
Desirable manual gearbox
Attractive colour combination
The example here features the well regarded 3. 6 litre 6 cylinder 24v engine and a 5 speed manual box and has covered minimal miles over the last 20 years or so according to the MOT history. It comes with a folder of invoices back to the 1990s for parts and work carried out over the years.
In addition, we also have a stamped service book with stamps upto 55k miles in 1989, Service Manual, XJ-S range brochure, Parts catalogue, Specification leaflet, and Handbook.
The Jaguar presents nicely. The metallic blue paint is tidy, chrome work good, and the Fondmetal 16 inch cross spoke alloys certainly look the part. There are also matching Pirelli tyres all round - always a good sign of a cared for car. The chrome XJS door thresholds also look the part.
The interior boasts full leather seating - a cost extra option at the time - and the seats themselves are a little creased with wear which is entirely in keepiong with the age and mileage of the car. The roof and panels are a little marked, as is the rear perspex screen. The car has a Clifford alarm fitted and there is a brochure in the file for this, although it hasnt been tested. The Jaguar has a Sony CD player fitted as well - again untested and a Jaguar Sport steering wheel.
Overall, a good example of the marque with history and a sensible reserve price.
