This two-seater (or 2+2-seater) model was not a full convertible, having a non-removable centre section and fixed cant rails. The option of Jaguar's established 5.3-litre V12 engine came in 1985 and in 1988 the Targa-type body was succeeded by a fully Convertible one. Some 12,372 Convertible XJSs and 5,013 Cabriolet XJ-SCs were made before the model range was replaced by the XK8.

This car is now on the road and was the first 3.6 Cabriolet converted to TWR body spec. The TWR kit is genuine factory fitted.
