The specimen offered here has been the subject of a very serious restoration, which cost the owner over £60,000.00 (sixty thousand pounds), which is fully documented in the history file. Offered from a private collection of the deceased owner, the car was stripped down to its component parts and then rebuilt to better than original standards. The interior has been fully retrimmed in leather, including fitting of the rear seats, which were not fitted as standard, due to American safety legislation. The Targa tops and rear hood have also been renewed and even the door cards and quarter panels are finished in the same cream leather.

Described as an outstanding example, this XJS-C is finished in metallic Bordeaux with cream leather and mulberry piping, It is offered complete with full service history by way of a fully stamped service booklet, all previous MoT certificates, full photographic record of the rebuild, the original factory brochure and an insurance valuation, by Towergate, for £15,000.

The motor car is currently showing a warranted 77,995 miles and was last service at 77,113 miles.

This rare, very early XJS-C is equipped with manual transmission and finished in Maroon with Cream/Beige leather upholstery. There are photos on file confirming a full bare metal respray has been carried out, since when 'C78 YKK' has featured on the XJS Enthusiast stand at the NEC Classic Motor Show and in Classic Car Weekly. It has been treated and rust proofed by renowned XJS specialist KWE and the Jaguar comes complete with thousands of pounds worth of bills for maintenance work carried out. The vendor currently regards the bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, 3.6-litre six-cylinder engine and five-speed transmission as all being in "excellent" order.
