On eBay UK January 07, 2011. Asking UKL 3,995 with 87,000 miles. Seller Wall 2 Wall Autos in Southampton.

1985 C REG, XJS CABRIOLET, 3.6, 5-SPEED MANUAL. THIS IS A RARE CAR BEING THE CABRIOLET WITH REMOVABLE ROOF PANELS AND COLLAPSABLE REAR SCREEN PANEL AND THE 3.6 MANUAL. IT HAS COVERED 87,000 MILES BACKED UP BY ALL OLD MOT'S AND A WAD OF BILLS AND RECIEPTS FOR EVERYTHING DONE TO THE CAR INCLUDING SERVICES. I HAVE JUST HAD OIL FILTER AND PLUGS SERVICE DONE AND THE TWO FRONT TOP MOUNTS AS ONE WAS A LITTLE CLUNKY. THE CAR DRIVES SUPERBLY, NICE AND SMOOTH, GOOD GEAR CHANGES ETC. NO KNOCKS OR CLUNKS. THE CAR IS MECHNICALLY SOUND AND STRUCTURALLY SOUND TOO. THE BODY WORK COULD DO WITH SOME COSMETIC ATTENTION. THERE ARE SOME MINOR AREAS OF RUST BUBBLES AND AREAS OF COLOUR FADE. I HAVE CONSIDERED HAVING THIS DONE BUT IF SOMEONE IS INTERESTED THEN IT'S BETTER FOR THEM TO SEE THE CAR AS IT IS FIRST. THIS CAR CAN ONLY APPRECIATE IN VALUE. EVEN A REASONABLE COUPE WOULD MAKE 3,000 POUNDS LET ALONE SOMETHING THIS RARE. THIS IS A USEABLE CLASSIC. IT'S GOOD ON FUEL AS IT'S THE MANUAL AND THE 3.6. IT STILL HAS THE MODERN CONVIENCES SUCH AS POWER STEERING, ELECTRIC WINDOWS, A HEATER THAT WORKS, STEREO ETC. WITH A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE IT COULD EASILY BE WORTH 7,000 OR 8,000 POUNDS. AS I SAID IT WILL ONLY GO UP IN VALUE. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THIS CAR IS NUMBER.61 OF 714 RHD'S MADE FOR THE UK MARKET AND 1 OF ONLY 100 MADE BY TICKFORD. THE CAR HAS BEEN WELL LOOKED AFTER IN THE PAST AND IS NOW IN NEED OF SOMEONE TO GIVE HER A NEW LEASE ON LIFE.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
