Vehicle has GM auto, I assume retrofitted- Running on lpg only, less complicated & inexpensive. Still uses 25 litres per 100 km. Has h.e woodgrain dash now.

No. Jaguar dropped the Borg Warner 12 Transmission part way through 1977 for the GM TH400. I have 2W3087BW with factory fitted TH400. Reports indicate around April 1977 Jaguar changed to the GM trans although this may not be accurate. I do not know why, it may have something to do with ownership change at Borg Warner or maybe the Model 12 trans was discontinued, either way the TH400 is a better trans and can be modified extensively due to the internals being identical to the US GM TH400 of which there are many aftermarket mod kits and parts available. (TIP - use GM parts for your TH400 trans not JAG parts, much cheaper.)
