47,800 MILES, ON EBAY 05/07, SELLER WRITES:

For your consideration a beautiful and highly collectible 1991 Jaguar XJS. This model is only one of 150 in the world which features a factory-installed electric sun-roof from this particular year. A true rarity. I would love to know how many are still on the road! Well this one is and not only is it gorgeous -- it’s mechanically sound as well!

This vehicle is extremely dependable so not only is it a collectible, it can be used for daily driving as well. With only 46,800 miles on this beauty it can certainly give you years of a wonderful driving experience that only Jaguars can give.

Cosmetically I would give the vehicle a 9 out of 10. The paint is shiny and really stands out however the car is fifteen years old so it does have very minor scratching here and there. Nothing to worry about -- A good compounding and buffing and most will disappear.

The car starts up right away, runs strong and shifts beautifully. The car also has an auxiliary fan to prevent overheating from occurring. The oil was changed regularly has been very well maintained. In fact, this vehicle has been babied by me, washed and waxed, always garaged. In regard to the interior, the rear seats have never been sat in so they look like new. The front driver’s seat did have some minorcracking in the leather. I purchased a premium leather repair kit and smoothed out the cracking. The seat looks great as the cracking has been repaired. What a wonderful leather kit for $100.00. I will include it with the car so you can make them look even newer. The stuff works great. Anyway back to the black beauty…

The interior color is cream with a maroon striping around the edge of the seats which is characteristic of the Classic Jaguar XJS model. Everything works fine inside and out. The only small problem is the windshield wiper fluid light won’t go out even though I fill the reservoir. It affects nothing. I just want to relate any known problem so that you will be happy with your purchase. A new headliner wouldn’t hurt either. It’s fine now but in the future you will need one. They go for around $150.00.

You can take this car anywhere. Just turn the key and away you go -- the envy of the neighborhood! This car is an excellent value for the money. The brakes are virtually new, the ‘v’ rated tires are like new as well. The oils have all been changed, there is a brand new battery in it as well so all you have to do is hop in and drive it away!

I reserve the right to end this auction early if the car sells locally.

Good luck and happy bidding!!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
