I like that I can cruise it around and not feel overly ostentatious. You get compliments all the time in a Jag like this. The color suits the car exceptionally well. The big 6 purrs and this Cat is happiest on the highway.
This Jag had been the prized possession of a Nicaraguan immigrant who had become very successful in the USA. He had a nice compound in the good part of the Bay Area, far from the city. Lafayette California is a very affluent locale. The car had been purchased when it was 1 year old and kept by the same man up until now. It was always maintained at the dealer and the husband and wife always drove separately, with the man driving his Jag.
He must have tapped a few things in the later years. The doors have been touched up and the valance is split down low. I didn't even notice it until I washed it. There is a grazing on the passenger fender in the front. There are some door dings on the passenger rear quarter. The Jag has a rock solid drive train, I can tell, but the cosmetics will need attention if you are a perfectionist. It's lovely to drive and the accolades fly, however in the long term, I would expect the exterior to be refinished if you are an aficionado. There is some rattles up front that I have been tracking down. There is a worn spot on the carpet where one would drag a boot across while getting in. The top is new and very nice. The tires and brakes are good. I drove from sea level to the top of Grizzly Peak taking photos and then back down the mountain. The California smog check has just been completed for local buyers. The car is wonderful as it is, the new owner can take pride in this car. There are 4 sets of keys and a boot for the top. You can't go wrong in this beautiful golden Jaguar. Harris
