Car offered at;

www.classicautomall.com/vehicles/2062/1986-jaguar-xjsc-convertible

Seller's description:

1986 Jaguar XJSC Convertible Offered At $34,500

For consignment a V12 convertible sports luxury sedan showing up as a Jaguar XJSC from 1986. This was to be the follow up of Sir William Lyons' XKE sports car, but have it be the ultimate tourer. It was very successful, having a 21 year run, and this particular car has had only 2 owners who babied the car, never driving it in bad weather, and careful documented maintenance. Read onward for all the goods on this Jag.

Ebay item 11/18/20

www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Jaguar-XJSC-Convertible/124444192416

Current bid: $1,225 reserve not met 2 bids 6 days left in auction seller classicautomall, 52k miles.

Seller's description:

This particular car has had only 2 owners who babied the car, never driving it in bad weather, and careful documented maintenance. A $30,000 refresh has just been completed. Read onward for all the goods on this Jag.

Exterior

All sheet metal is bathed in Regent Gray, put on as a respray only after an extensive stripping of the previous coat. No bodywork or rust remediation was performed at this time because there was no rust! This combination of straight steel, and beautiful paint as well as other attributes to come, gave this car a 9.988/10 in a regional JCNA concours event in the driven Class. Due to its XJSC moniker, it has a combined targa/convertible top that moves easily up and down, retaining a B pillar roll bar right behind the passengers that the operator can remove 2 roof panels for a sunroof effect, and stow them in the trunk. Or go full top down for the true wind in the hair effect.

Interior

Walnut and leather mix to form the luxurious interior. Gray door panels make use of the leather, along with gray carpeting, and a small strip of the walnut lacquered to a spit shine. Leather buckets with power controls all in fine condition make up the seats. These are sitting on either side of a center console in gray leather with a black inset shifter window controls and cruise control along with dueling ash receptacles with corned lids. For the dash walnut in true lacquered form is the dash front and above is padded by black vinyl. All knobs, levers and the sound system are inset into the walnut. A black instrument cluster is in the growler badged leather wrapped steering wheel. Gray Wilton carpeting in pristine condition floods the floors and is also in back in lieu of the rear seat, which is carpeted storage and receives the downed top.

Drivetrain

Under the long bonnet, is revealed the V12 power plant and it is a work of art. Fuel injected 5.3 liters of High Efficiency running. This 295hp aluminum V12 produces incredible low end torque. Its 60-degree offset, and 30-degree firing rotation cause the driver to make sure after turning the key the engine is actually running! A recent thorough mechanical recon has been performed by K&T Vintage Restoration, Allentown, Pennsylvania. The log and invoices are provided for the new owner.

Undercarriage

Rockers and fittings show no road dirt and slight patina with age. New brakes have been put on in the recent servicing and are power disc brakes which present on all 4 corners. Independent coil spring suspension is also on all 4 corners.

Drive-Ability

This car fired right up, and ran beautifully, with the as described idle that you really have to check to see if it is indeed running. All functions were awesome, and recent additional ignition system and a multitude of electrical upgrades, as well as the A/C being converted to the R134 refrigerant the A/C blows cold.

Essentially a car in the condition as close to when it left the factory as one can get. Interior is all original save for the targa panels inserts. Paint is gorgeous and the engine bay is truly tightly buttoned up. Lovely mate! You can drive the bloody thing like you stole it, and an even bigger grin will appear. Spit Spot!
