Ebay item 3/20/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BEAUTIFUL-1988-JAGUAR-XJ-SC-ONLY-ONE-OWNER-NEW-/19051403 ...
Current bid $1,150 reserve not met, 6 bids 8 days left in auction. 64k miles.
Sellers description:
1988 JAGUAR XJ-SC. FINISHED WITH A WHITE EXTERIOR AND NAVY BLUE LEATHER INTERIOR. DRIVEN JUST 64,871 CAREFUL ONE OWNER MILES SINCE NEW. OPTIONS ON THIS JAGUAR INCLUDE THE RARE AND UNIQUE CONVERTIBLE TOP DESIGN, ALLOY WHEELS, HEATED SEATS, FOG LIGHTS AND MUCH MORE.
THIS ONE OWNER JAGUAR HAS BEEN SERVICED SINCE NEW REGARDLESS OF COST AND COMES WITH THE COMPLETE SERVICE HISTORY AND ALL RECORDS FROM NEW. THE MASSIVE 12 CYLINDER ENGINE IS STRONG AND POWERFUL AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS EFFORTLESSLY THROUGH ALL OF THE GEARS. THE STEERING IS TIGHT AND PRECISE AND THE BRAKES FEEL JUST GREAT. ALL OF THE ELECTRICALS WORK PERFECTLY AND THE AIR CONDITIONING IS ICE COLD. THIS REALLY IS A GREAT JAGUAR TO DRIVE.
THE INTERIOR IS STUNNING. THE NAVY BLUE LEATHER SEATS ARE IN REMARKABLE CONDITION (SEE PICTURES) SHOWING JUST MINIMAL WEAR TO THE DRIVER SEAT BOLSTER. THE CLASSIC WOOD JAGUAR DASHBOARD IS LIKE NEW WITH NO CRACKS OR FADING AND EVEN THE CARPETS DON'T LOOK OR FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN STEPPED ON THANKS TO THE FACTORY JAGUAR FLOOR MATS THAT HAVE BEEN PROTECTING THEM.
THE EXTERIOR IS WHAT REALLY SETS THIS PARTICULAR XJ-SC APART FROM THE REST. THE WHITE PAINT IS IN FANTASTIC CONDITION (SEE PICTURES) WITH NO MAJOR SCRATCHES OR DINGS ANYWHERE AT ALL. THE PAINT IS STILL BRIGHT AND SHINY JUST LIKE IT WAS IN 1988 WHEN THIS XJ-SC WAS ON THE SHOWROOM FLOOR AT THE JAGUAR DEALERSHIP. THE BLUE CONVERTIBLE TOPS (BOTH HARD AND SOFT) ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO RIPS OR COLOR FADING AT ALL. EVEN THE ORIGINAL ALLOY WHEELS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
THIS 1988 JAGUAR XJ-SC REALLY IS A VERY SPECIAL CAR. IT HAS TIMELESS LOOKS, GREAT PERFORMANCE AND A UNIQUE CONVERTIBLE TOP THAT CAN BE USED AS A T-TOP, FULL CONVERTIBLE OR FULL HARD TOP CONFIGURATION. THE ONLY REAL "APOLOGIES" TO THIS JAGUAR ARE A COUPLE OF MINOR NICKS (SEE PICTURES) THAT ARE TO BE EXPECTED ON ANY USED CAR, A SMALL SCRATCH WHERE AN EMBLEM WAS REMOVED OVER THE XJ-SC LOGO (SEE PICTURE) AND THE TIRES ARE A BIT WEAK. OTHER THAN THESE MINOR ITEMS, THIS REALLY IS A TRUE TIME WARP CAR THAT HAS HAD ONLY ONE FEMALE OWNER SINCE NEW. THE PICTURES DON'T DO THIS JAGUAR JUSTICE, IT REALLY IS THAT NICE!!!

This 1988 Jaguar XJ-SC is a two-owner car that was sold new in New York where it has remained for the past 30-years. The original owner traded the car in to the selling dealer seven years ago, and the second owner recently traded it back in. The XJ-SC is a two-seat model featuring a removable multi-piece targa-style roof, and both tops are included with the sale. Power comes from a 5.3-liter V12 paired to an automatic transmission, and a service file dating back to 1988 documents maintenance from new. An engine oil change and fluid service was performed at the seller’s facility ~20 miles ago. Now showing 72,191 miles, this Jaguar is being offered in Plainview, New York at no reserve with factory manuals and accessories, a clear AutoCheck history report, and a clean New York state title.
The seller states that this XJ-SC has no known history of paint or body work. The removable dark blue fabric top appears to be in good shape. Exterior flaws are reportedly limited to a few paint chips near the rear ‘XJ-SC’ badge, several other nicks, a cracked fog light lens, and a power antenna that does not fully retract.
The OEM 15″ alloy wheels are fitted with matching Goodyear Assurance rubber all around.
Inside, the dark blue leather upholstery is free of rips or tears, and shows wear commensurate with age on the driver’s outer bolstering.
According to the seller, no modifications have been made to the cabin and the factory Jaguar-branded AM/FM cassette player is present. The odometer currently shows 72,191 miles, which lines up with the 30-year maintenance file.
Under the hood is a naturally-aspirated 5.3-liter V12 linked to an automatic transmission. The mechanicals remain stock to the seller’s knowledge, and an engine oil/fluid service was completed roughly ~20 miles ago.
The AutoCheck report is accident-free and shows New York registration since 1993 when the car had 42k-miles. The last recorded odometer reading was in October 2001 at 64,707 miles.
