Ebay item 3/24/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Jaguar-XJS-5-Speed-Euro-Cabriolet-Targra-xks-xj-sc-xke-e-t ...
Car has a buy it now price of $19,500 for 6 days, seller sssautosinc. 85k miles.

Sellers description:
1986 Jaguar XJ-SC European delivery car powered by a 3.6-liter inline-six paired with a very rare 5-speed manual getrag transmission, vin# SAJJNACC8CC12751

This car was imported from the Netherlands when new, this example was traded for a Rolls Royce by its first owner in 2002 and went into a collection thereafter, I then purchased it last year and put over a 1,000 miles on it. Now the car has only 85,699 miles. This car is in excellent condition. Recent work is detailed below. Car is sold with a clean Carfax report and a clean Missouri title and in "as is condition".

The paint has a great shine and the body fitment has excellent gaps! These are some small chips and other minor blemishes. This car is very solid and rust free (only some tiny rust on the chips and a few tiny blisters). Overall the paint and body are in above average condition.

The Connolly leather seats from the factory are in excellent condition. Though most cars came with a package shelf in lieu of rear seating, a simple bench and lap belts have been retrofitted here. Interior is excellent. No splits in the plastic dash, though small cracks and blemishes are in the wood trim. The carpets and headliner and door panels are also in great condition.

The automatic climate control system has received repairs to its heater valve and blower motor, but air conditioning does not blow cold (needs freon?). A rebuilt wiper motor and switch have also been installed in recent months

The 3.6-liter inline-six was not available for US-market cabriolets, nor was the 5-speed manual gearbox on this example, that is another factor that makes this car so rare. A recent service in late 2016 included a fluid change and installation of new rear brake pads, front shock bushings, and a fresh battery along with the HVAC parts and more...

The clutch is strong, and the gearbox is free of grinding on up or downshifts (excellent syncros).

This car comes with the original owners books, 2 sets of keys and a full size spare.

Sellers description:

This 1986 Jaguar XJ-SC is a European-market example powered by a 3.6-liter inline-six paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. This targa-style cabriolet was a factory body style in the mid-1980s with approximately 5,000 produced before the introduction of the full XJS convertible. Imported from the Netherlands when new, this example was traded for a Rolls Royce by its first owner in 2002 and went into a collection thereafter. Now with just under 86k indicated miles, it has been owned for 11 months by the selling dealer. Described as being in good mechanical condition after recent work detailed below, it is sold with a clean Carfax report and a clean Missouri title.

The second owner was reportedly a collector who stored the car in a climate-controlled facility, adding just 5k miles in 14 years. Several close-up photos of the finish are provided, and a variety of small chips and other blemishes are pointed out in the gallery below. Small areas of bubbling are noted on a lower wheel arch and two door corners, along with surface rust in several paint chips.

Single-piece headlights likely gave way to US-market round versions at importation. Stock 15″ 5-spoke wheels show occasional nicks and wear older Michelin X One radials. The SC was fitted with a targa bar along with bracing around the cockpit, bulkhead, and rear suspension.

The landaulet-style top includes two removable roof panels and a folding rear section with a plastic rear window. A removable rear hardtop was also included from the factory but is missing here. The stock power antenna includes a new seal, though weather stripping is cracked around the fixed quarter windows and driver's door sill.

Pale grey seats wore Connolly leather from the factory and display moderate cracking and bolster wear. Though most cars came with a package shelf in lieu of rear seating, a simple bench and lap belts look to have been retrofitted here. Interior carpeting was lifted for photos, revealing discoloration which according to the seller is comprised of surface rust from wet floor mats and factory cosmoline. No splits are shown in the plastic dash, though small cracks and blemishes are described in the wood trim as detailed in the gallery.

Interior functions are demonstrated in this video. Instrumentation includes a MPH speedo, drum-style auxiliary gauges, and an odometer reading 86k miles. A period radar detector and aftermarket radio are shown along with the factory trip computer. The automatic climate control system has received repairs to its heater valve and blower motor, but air conditioning does not blow cold according to the seller. A rebuilt wiper motor and switch have also been installed in recent months.

The 3.6-liter inline-six was not available for US-market cabriolets, nor was the 5-speed manual gearbox on this example. A recent service in late 2016 included a fluid change and installation of new rear brake pads, front shock bushings, and a fresh battery along with the HVAC parts mentioned above.

The seller has put 1,200 miles on the car and reports that it runs smoothly with no undue smoke or fluids left on the ground. The clutch is described as strong, and the gearbox is said to be free of grinding on up or downshifts.

The Carfax report shows the car was imported when new in 1986, with title and registration events running through 2009 when it was assigned historic vehicle plates under the previous owner. A partial import tag remains in the driver's door jamb, and a new VIN supercedes the crossed-out original above the firewall.

The underside was reportedly undercoated when new and a number of photos are provided detailing its current condition. Original literature is included along with a collection of spare keys. Paperwork from the 2002 sale is present, though other records are limited as most prior maintenance work was reportedly carried out personally by the previous owner and his full-time mechanic. The seller welcomes pre-purchase inspections before the auction's close.

This 1986 Jaguar XJ-SC is a European-market version that was delivered new in the Netherlands and imported to the United States in 1986, spending time in New York and Missouri before being acquired by the seller’s late husband in 2017. The car is finished in blue over a gray leather interior and is powered by a 3.6-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Features include a black soft top with removable targa panels, a Sony CD stereo, an onboard computer, and 15″ wheels. The car was previously listed in a March 2017 auction on BaT. Service under current ownership is said to have included a battery replacement in 2019 and replacement of the water pump, fuel pressure regulator, rear calipers, headlights, and ball joints in 2020, at which time an alignment was performed. This XJ-SC shows 91k miles and is now offered with multiple keys, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in New York, Missouri, and Michigan. The car won First in Class at the 2019 Mad Dogs and Englishmen British Auto Faire in Michigan and Third in Class at that same event in 2017.

Otherwise essentially same as above.
