97,000 MILES, ON EBAY 05/07, SELLER WRITES:
THIS IS A 1986 XJS-C. EBAY CAN'T LIST THE CAR AS A NEWER THAN 79. THE VIN # ON THIS CAR WAS ASSIGNED BY DOT, EPA, AND CUSTOMS, AND IT IS NOT A FACTORY VIN. THIS IS A EUROPEAN MODEL. IMPORTED IN 1986 This car is super rare. 1 of 258 left hand drive 5 speed cabriolets produced. Not officially imported into US, approximately 10 in the USA. Triple black. 3.54 posi rear. Recent suspension overhaul, shocks, clutch, brakes, (including rear rotors), new power steering pump. This is NOT your average V12 luxobarge, this car flies!!! Drives great, and has NO LEAKS of any sort. Formerly owned by professional Jag mechanic, (3 years) this car was built before Jaguar cheapened out; it has leather door panels, console and seats. It has 2 T-tops, a hard top and a soft folding rear top section. The Cabriolets are the rarest body style of XJS, with about 5000 made in total, from 85 to 88, but the left hand drive 5 speeds, 3.6 version is the rarest of all. This is a great car to drive, and if decently cared for will appreciate in value. It provides you with half the maintenance of a V12, and twice the fun. At 90000 miles it had wiper blades, clutch assembly, lube, control bushings, ball joints, rotors, cap, wires, plugs, air filter, belts, etc. Records from 1998 with 48k miles. This car was federalized for the American market on 04/30/1986 by FAST FORWARD importer of these cars. All the DOT, and EPA copies regarding the certification are with the title, the car had 11 miles when certified. It now has a valid Maryland title, last titled on 3/11/99. It comes with a new headliner for all three tops; the body is nearly flawless. Minor previous paintwork for small dents and dings. I rather enjoy driving this one, bid strong and I’ll suffer my loss.
